well at long last i have joined the rank and file music freaks who have those little white mp3 players called ipods… i worked out a fair and equitable trade with a friend of mine and i got a 40gig ipod out of the deal. i have actually had it for three days but have been so busy i have not had a chance to even do anything with it. so tonight i transferred all my music from my laptop [4,825 songs in all] on to it and am looking forward to get a FM transmitter so that i can use it in the car. it astounds me that there is still quite a bit of room left on it. now if i can just figure out how to shut the thing off, i will be doing well.
brad – it is a 40gb 4th generation…black and white… but it holds so much music it is sweet!
Nice to see you’ve “joined the ranks”. I got my iPod shuffle in a similar waycongrats!
I do have to agree on the FM transmitters. I’ve had the $15 dollar ones and the $50 dollar ones, and they all work well until they break. Funny that the tape adapters that have *moving parts* last longer.
If you do get an FM modulator, get one that plugs into the top with no cord. I soldered the cord on my Belkin one 4 times before I trashed it. Not built well enough for everyday wear, methinks.
BTW, is yours a color iPod? 4G? 3G?
Oh, and… Push and hold the bottom button and it’ll shut right off. 🙂
iPod… iPod. I *heart* my iPod. I got my little guy for Christmas this last year, and I am so grateful. I use it constantly… at work, when I work out and in the car…
I must warn you against the FM transmitter, though… I tried it… even got a fancy-schmancy $75 one from The Sharper Image. It sucked. I much prefer my little $20 tape adapter.
Enjoy!
