Wedding Bells & Much Labor

Posted on Thursday 3 May 2007 by Joshua

This weekend is the wedding of Corey and Meredith Stark. They are getting re-married after splitting up about 5 years ago. It is pretty awesome how they worked things out and how God worked in their lives to bring them back to the place where they could love each other again. Also in the mix is their 7 year old daughter who is pretty excited about having mommy and daddy together again under one roof. I am thrilled for the whole family and is is definitely a testimony of the greatness of God and his healing power in their lives.

That being said, they decided to have this wondrous event outside at the Camp this weekend. That means the past two weeks have been a tremendous flurry of activity in getting the grounds ready for the big day. We have already brought in 4 truckloads of mulch and bunches of flowers and plants. It is really starting to look really nice. Today we built an arbor/trellis type thing that they will stand under. The wedding is going to take place along the creek right below the cross. When you stand under the arbor, you face the cross. We scoured the woods today for cool branches to make the arbor out of, and I have to say that it came out rather well. I am sure that once all the vines and flowers are added, it will look amazing. We also have about 100 tiki torches to line the path to the ceremony site and to put on the top of the hill and along the river. You can be sure that pictures will be posted of this event. Pray for a beautiful day on Saturday and that there will be not even a hint of rain! Right now, my arms hurt and I am pretty tired. I think that tonight I will be relaxing for a change.
