We live in a society where everything has to be done at breakneck speeds. Although I have slowed down to some degree since I moved to the midwest, I am not known for idly sitting around. Life is so often a blur. There are two ways to miss things in life either it just goes by too fast or WE go by to fast. Tonight at the Meeting Place, Kurt Bennett from the International House of Prayer in Kansas City was there. He spoke on prayer while the instruments played… and God was moving. It is so amazing to me how you can tell when God is there when things just mesh together like they were orchestrated (which they were, by Him) but for us it was just spontaneous expression. Kurt spoke on the life-changing power of true prayer. Example after example of people whose lives have been changed just by getting in God’s presence. God bless the Kansas City House of Prayer. Bless us as we begin the process of starting the Elkhart House of Prayer. It is going to be awesome! Bob asked me as I was walking down the alley… “What do you think is going to happen?” I said “It’s gonna be big … God is going to move in a huge way” He said, “my arm hairs are numb!” I felt that way all night!
Prayer is one of those things that I know I don’t do enough. God is telling me though, that I need to stop what I am doing and get in his presence more and more. He longs for me to be there. Oh, that I will have the yearning of David when he asks God what HE longs for… God, what do you want from me? Here I am Lord… use me. God, that I will fall in love with your word again. God, that I will fall in love with your presence again and stop being fascinated by lesser things of this world that take my attention from you. God, that I will STOP letting life go by in a blur and rest in your presence and wait for your voice.
I believe the youth of this nation (the Jacob generation) are rising up and getting in the presence of God. They are going to take this country by storm. They will wrestle with God for his blessing like Jacob did. I pray that passionate young people will begin rising up in this area and that God will begin to move in the lives of the younger people at Grace College. We need a passion and excitement about Jesus Christ. We need a fresh awakening and an annointing of the Holy Spirit. Shake us up Lord. Don’t hold back Lord. Move on us Lord. Move in us Lord. Get us out of our little box and open our eyes to see the bigger picture Lord.
Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly above anything we can imagine … be honor and glory forever. He is worthy. He is worthy. He is worthy. God be praised.
