This past Saturday I had the opportunity to experience my friend Michael Johsnon leading worship at a local church – The House of Power. My friend Betsy Hulse was singing on his team and although she is a white girl… she was definitely getting her soul on! It was this tiny little place filled with worshippers. The music was loud – chest-thumping bass. I had not ever been to a “black church” before, but this was definitely a great time and I was pretty amazed by the freedom of the worship.
On Sunday I headed over to The Osceola Grace Brethren Church. I had not ever been there before but it was cool to visit our neighbors and to see Andy Jewett in worship leading action. Greg Serafino spoke on the importance of speech and how a small steel bit is able to control a large horse. He decided to illustrate his point more dramatically by bringing in my friend, Collette Mee, on horseback right into the church. You should have heard the gasps and twitters from the people as she rode in. It was awesome. Of course Anna (the horse) was a bit freaked out at the sight of 300+ people in this room and it took her a few minutes to calm down. Thankfully, Collette had her under control… but not before Anna left a nice smelly present on the floor. It was rather funny. Thankfully they had big tarps on their floor! But it was an enjoyable service and was also great to experience another aspect of the body of Christ in the Michiana area.
Thats my sister! 🙂 Actually you wrote about both of them! Hope you have a great day!
Always a pleasure to see you good sir… sorry I had to leave so quickly.
