Yup, that is truly me. On a snowboard. Ready to go down a hil as soon as I figure out how to get my feet into those lock in binding things. Locking your feet to a board and then tying it to your leg didn’t appeal to me, but in the scheme of the whole snowboarding thing, it makes sense. My friend Robert got his Dad’s snowboard and so we had to try it out this weekend. Now we don’t have any spectacularly large hills around here, but when you have never done it before, any hill looks daunting. So he showed me a few things and I managed to not break any bones and have fun at the same time. So maybe one of these days I will have to try it out on a real hill. I may get ambitious and upload a video here for your viewing pleasure, but we will see.
Later on, we noticed that the parking lot was empty and covered with fresh snow. So I thought it a good time to perfect the art of the 360 with the old Land Rover. It was really fun. I take it out in the fields all the time and do spins, but the parking lot is much smoother. I even taught Robert how to drive a stick and frighteningly enough, let him do some crazy stuff too. All I could think as we were spinning around was, “If we hit something, how in the heck am I gonna explain that I was letting a 14 yr. old kid drive my truck and do 360’s let alone live it down if this truck gets smashed up.” But he did fine, and didn’t even stall it out. Pretty impressive, in my opinion.
A good weekend, full of lots of activity here at the camp. It almost makes winter bearable…
yay josh. yay adventure. yay for donuts in the rover.
K maybe it’s not funny. At least my intentions are good.
Cool. Funny how I almost did that Friday night, the snowboard thing.
