Recently my site went down for a while while the domain renewal took place. I didn’t have the money to renew it until the day it expired, so I had to jump through a bunch of hoops in order to finally get it up and running again. As as many know, I am not the most coordinated person when it comes to jumping through large round objects. Annnnyway…
Somewhere in Western New York
Close to 2,000 miles under my belt this past weekend and another trip to NY. This time for Gram’s 80th birthday. She thought she was going out for calzones with Dad, Chris and Papa. Needless to say, when she walked into the restaurant and thirty friends, neighbors and family were there to shout “surprise!” … she was indeed shocked. It really was cool though that everyone was able to come – Matt and Trish drove in from Connecticut, Al and Gayle flew in from Arizona and I drove in from Indiana. I love my Gram and hope she lives to be 100. She’s the coolest.
Sara and I hung out on Saturday. Started to mow her jungle lawn with a push mower but thankfully, the pouring rain saved me. Then I was going to go down to Albany and hang out with Mom, but I stopped by Perth Bible Church and was going to say hi to Ray Morse. Aaron Handrich was staying there with him and since I hadn’t seen him since high school, we spent the whole afternoon catching up. It’s amazing what can occur in someone’s life in twelve years. Even more amazing that it had been that long. Sometimes it seems like I have been away from there for so long, and other times like I never left.
Mom and I had some very interesting conversation on eternal security and theophostic ministry (among other things) when I stayed at her place on Saturday night. I do enjoy a good discussion. In fact, just yesterday Corey and I were discussing the movement of the earth’s tectonic plates and the Genesis gap theory. Fun times!
At some point I am going to get these photos developed and put up a web album. And I do really need to write something of substance on here. I feel like I have been lacking in that lately.
Sounds like a packed week! I’m glad to hear you are doing well, friend. No car wrecks, I hope…
I’m glad you were able to spend some quality time with family. Being so far away can be such a drag, but at the same time it can make you really cherish times like these. Losing my grandpa this summer was quite the hard time for me. I loved him so much. He was blessed with a long, fruitful life and I’m so glad to hear that your gram has been given the same blessing. I hope she lives to 100, too!
I’m happy that you’re enjoying life, Josh. Be blessed. Pe@ce!
