Tree Hugging

Posted on Sunday 29 April 2012Monday 26 November 2012 by Joshua

Years ago, my Dad came to Winona Lake for a brief visit. One morning we took a walk in the woods and came across this massive Burr Oak. He walked over to it, looked up the tree, grabbed it just just hugged it…listening to the sound of it breathing, he said. It was so quiet and peaceful that morning. So today, while I was on a ride in those same woods, I passed the tree and had to stop. I leaned back looked up and put my arms around it and listened for a moment, thinking of Dad … a true tree hugger in every respect of the phrase 🙂 Missing you today Dad.
