This one is for Meredith. I believe it is the mandate of every Christian (and human for that matter) that we must care for the earth and be environmentally responsible. I read this quote today on the back of a Starbucks cup:
“So called “global warming” is just a secret ploy by wacko tree-huggers to make America energy independent, clean our air and water, improve the fuel efficiency of our vehicles, kick-start 21st century industries, and make our cities safer and mover livable. Don’t let them get away with it!”

Thank you my dear friend. You are a secret tree hugger, I just know it. Wouldn’t it be incredible if everyone (including myself) stewarded our incredible, beautiful, lush gift from God ( the earth ) as well as we do our hair, clothes, computers, etc…..
It is an issue of loving the Lord and all of His creation and loving your neighbor as yourself. When our hearts are transformed, we will bear fruit of consideration.
I prefer the name “trugger” without trying to be all “benifer and j-lo” ish. You know what I mean.
While I don’t buy into the “global warming” rhetoric, I would say that I am most assuredly a conservationist, much like my father who is choosing to spend his retirement lobbying the state and federal government to preserve the lakes and natural wetlands of Indiana. My father sums it up as “saving the landscape so that it can be enjoyed my grand-children’s children.” I do believe in stewardship and I believe that we have overtaken too much of nature for our mini malls. If He is coming back to the earth to reign, what state will He see it in? That should be the fuel for our conservation efforts.
