Well, I just wrote this nice post out and my silly internet connection decided to time out as it was saving it so it lost it. Ugh. At any rate… I am back in good old Hoosierland. It was a great time being home and spending the week with my family. I enjoyed being at Mom’s as it is nice and quiet and she has a good internet connection there. On Monday I drove to Connecticut where I was able to enjoy some great times of driving through old towns (with names like: Poquonock, Pawcatuck, Wequetenquock, and Poquetanuck) and riding on my bike – took tons of photos. Some of those New England towns from 17-1800s are just so amazing. Also, I had the opportunity to go out on some trails and enjoy riding the woods and the bluffs. Man it was an amazing time and I thoroughly enjoyed being out there in nature by myself. Matt & Trish moved from one house to another just down the road, so Monday afternoon was spent with Matt, myself and his neighbor packing. I don’t think I have ever packed any truck quite that tightly or fully. It was a work of art. On Tuesday, Dad and Chris came out and the three of us cleaned the whole place while Matt & Trish were at the closing. It worked out perfectly as we finished just as the people were ready to move in. So as they were beginning to move in, we took Matt & Trish’s stuff to the new house and began unloading. Finished that around 9. Matt & I had to go back for 3 more loads of stuff in the garage, but at 11:30 or so, we had it all in and everyone crashed.
I drove back to NY on Wednesday. Sara & Mike were working on a lion sculpture for me. That came out so brilliant – they did a great job with it. We had a nice dinner on Wednesday at Sara’s. [Note to self, charcoal grilles take way longer to get hot than gas grilles do.] I also got to spend quite a bit of time at Dad’s shop and with Gram & Papa. Lisa came down to Mom’s last night and we had a nice chat for a few hours. All in all it was a good trip just spending time with my family, which was exactly what I needed to do. It has been a long time and I am glad I went. Arriving back here was good after 12 hours of driving, but it is very hot here and alot of the grass is brown as it has not rained in over a week. I guess that spares me from worrying about mowing. That’s ok though, because I have a 400lb + wooden lion to move. Pictures to come soon I hope.
Yikes. I knew you were into idol worship, I just knew it!
