The past couple nights have been awesome. Last night at the Refinery there were about 75-100 people who were invited to worship with and listen to Don Potter as he shared some of his heart and his passion for worship and knowing God. Something his wife, Cindy, said struck me. Sometimes we are forced into these forms and for some reason we stay in them even though they don’t exactly fit us. [As the son of a contractor, I understood where she was coming from. When you build forms for concrete, you are making the conrete do exactly what you want it to do, where you want it to go.] These forms don’t allow us to grow and expand, rather they keep us from being what we could be, what we were made to be. Do you ever feel that way? Do you ever just know in your heart that there is so much more you can be, so much more that God gave you inside of you just ready to burst out of you? But there are these forms holding us back.
There is a time coming that God is going to start breaking these forms apart. He is moving in many of our hearts, as evidenced last night. It’s time. Change is not always easy. Change is a scary thing sometimes. But God is all about not doing things the same old way, isn’t He. God is all about moving and shaking things around. He likes to keep us off balance because that way we are alert never knowing what to expect … but always ready to expect something. Does that make sense?
Tonight at the Meeting Place, several hundred gathered for an incredibly blessed time of worship, intercession and message. I believe that God was moving in the hearts of many gathered there this evening. I believe there is going to be a tremendous move of God especially in the city of Elkhart in the coming days. I believe that God is going to pour out a spirit of unity and blessing upon the collective church body as we all seek to grow together toward a common purpose.
The enemy has stirred up division, strife, controversy, deception and critical behavior long enough in our churches. It is time for us [the warriors of Ephesians 6] to rise up and start claiming the power that has been given to us by Jesus Christ. He is the overcomer. With God on our side, how can we lose? Praise His name.
