The foolishness of Mr. Kerry

Posted on Tuesday 25 May 2004 by Joshua

Kerry Pokes Fun at Bush Mishap
Democrat John Kerry joked about President Bush’s weekend bicycle accident by comparing the president to a child, Internet newshound Matt Drudge reported yesterday.

“Kerry told reporters in front of cameras, ‘Did the training wheels fall off?’” Mr. Drudge reported on his Web site, www.drudgereport.com. Apparently these comments were supposed to be “off the record.”

In comments reported by the Associated Press, Mr. Kerry said, “I hope he’s OK. I didn’t know the president rode a bike.” Mr. Bush, who is widely ridiculed by liberals and Democrats as dumb and incompetent, suffered “minor abrasions and scratches” in the accident, which came near the end of a 17-mile mountain bike ride on his Texas ranch Saturday. personally, I think it is really cool that the president of the US goes out and mountain bikes, and even falls. Because usually if you fall, you are doing something a little bit risky, and maybe even dangerous. And to me, that’s cool that he is able to have abit of fun every now and again.

Mr. Kerry had his own bicycling mishap earlier this month, taking a spill while riding with Secret Service agents through Concord, Mass. Mr. Kerry fell when his bike hit a patch of sand. He was not injured. So instead of Mr. Kerry saying something like, “Yeah, I heard President Bush was mountain biking yesterday and fell pretty hard. I sure know what that is like, I fell earlier this month. Hit some sand. Hope he is ok.” He has to be smug and arrogant about it and mock Bush. That “off record” remark is very reflective of his true character. Again, one more reason not to vote for Mr. John Kerry.

By the way, I was reading today… Mr. Bush is quite an athletic guy. He can run a 6 minute mile, has been on the cover of Runner’s World, can bench press 200 lbs, chops wood on the ranch, has a resting pulse of 45 bpm, has 14.5% body fat, ranked in the top 2% of men his age in cardiovascular fitness, and when he did fall off his bike, he was on mile 16 of 17, he got back up and finished the ride despite the scrapes and scratches. By the way… We know all of this because Bush released his medical records.

Taken from today’s Washington Times and The National Review.

kevin – believe me, i hate the gas thing too. but i don’t think kerry will do anything for that. he has no clue about reality either. he drives a gas guzzling hummer and his wife is worth 500 million-ish, so what does he honestly care about the gas prices for me, the little person. thats the thing that annoys me the most about these politicians (like al gore) complaining about the environment. they haven’t changed their massive motorcades of fuel sucking SUVs and limos to alterna-powered or more fuel efficient vehicles, yet they seek to impose all kinds of stringent regulations upon average americans. i say that leadership must be modeled. we need to have people who will say, you know what, gloabl warming is real and it is going to seriously affect us. oil shortages are possible, so we need to change the way we live now. and as your elected officials, we are starting here. from now on we are getting rid of all SUVs and limos and will be driving hydrogen power honda civics. mayybe that sounds absurd, but it is going to take people in leadership practicing what they preach FIRST. now if kerry did that, i would be impressed. action, not rhetoric goes a long way with me. heck, i might even vote for him.

And also riding a bike gets people’s mind off gas prices which are supposed to go up 10 cents this weekenend. What a GUY!!!!!!!!!!!

well, i am not saying i love everything that GW is about, my point was that kerry was being absurd by making fun of the prez. when the same thing had just happened to him. that kind of hypocrisy is just surface evidence for deeper concern. as far as the fitness thing goes, i just thought it was kinda cool to have a prez. that was in good shape as opposed to most obese americans (including many senators and congressmen i have seen on cspan).

i still say nader all the way. the reform party just endorsed him not to long ago. enough of the old ways, lets bring some change!

shannon, too bad kerry is just as much of a liar as bush is. things will not get any better in american politics with either of them. i wonder if you and all those people who are always saying they will leave if bush got elected would just do it. i see alex baldwin is still enjoying his privileged american life although he said he would skip the country. get the heck out then if you dont like it.

because i want my president to be all fit and athletic and i care nothing about his complete incompentence, his lying ways, his bigoted approach to politics, etc. i’m still voting for kerry. four more years of bush and i’m off to canada.
