Well, I just finished reading the “last” Harry Potter book. [You just never know when/if the author will bring the series back – especially one as popular as this one has been.] It was a pretty amazing end to a great series. Seems like I have been reading it for a long time now. I guess it has been close to 10 years. Order of the Phoenix was an ok movie – I wasn’t too impressed with it overall. Maybe it is the new director (or the fact that every movie has a different one) but I didn’t care for the casting of some of the characters (mainly Umbridge) and some of the stuff they left out. To completely ignore Quidditch in a Harry Potter movie… I say! At any rate, it’s all over now, and all that is left is two more movies. The ending of the book was not entirely what I thought, but in some ways much better than I imagined. I won’t dare to post anything that would spoil it for anyone who has not read it yet (Matt Graham!). It only took me about 5 hrs to read the whole thing – almost 800 pages. I think I will miss the anticipation that another chapter of the story is yet to unfold, but hey, there will always be something else in the future. That is the beauty of reading and imagination.
Wow, I am really suprised you don’t have some “those books are demonic” reason for NOT reading them….glad to see you surprise me…
I thought Order of the Phoenix was the best movie yet…incredible. Of course, like the Lord of the Rings, I don’t take the time to read the books so I can’t be corrupted with expectations of what the movie SHOULD be….lol
I thought Umbridge was awesome; I HATED her! She played her part well…Again, if that is what she was like in the book.
I’m reading, I’m reading. However, I’m going through the audio cd’s of 3 – 5 first. So it will take me a few weeks. 🙂
Ethan has just began his journey through the books. He just read the first book that he got from the library. He read through three quarters of it the first night and finished it the next day. He said he just couldn’t put it down. Not bad for a 10 year old. He definitly has a longer attention span than I.
Note to Casey —
Trust me. You DEFINITELY hate her in the books.
That chick is ev-il.
Well, then what was wrong with her part i nthe movie Joshy?
she wasn’t shout, squat or toadlike in the movie. that is how she was described in the books – which made her ever more repulsively evil.
I thought she definitely looked toadlike in human form…lol…small compact body…to me anyways…
Once again, it would be hard to have read the books first and the movie has little chance to live up to such a breadth of detail being fit into a two and half hour movie.
