The Dreams of the Father

Posted on Friday 7 January 2005 by Joshua

A baby
a precious life
a gift from God
forming in the womb

Oh, the joy of the Father
as He creates the child
His little one
Oh, the precious thoughts going through His head
the destiny, the purpose
the joy He puts in His creation

Dreaming of the day when the child is introduced into the world
dreaming of His child shaking nations
dreaming of His graduation and marriage
and his own beautiful ones

Oh, the joy the Father has for His little one
tucked away in a womb
hidden from the world
silently being fashioned in Gods image
His little one

There the child waits and longs and dreams of his destiny
an astronaut
a deliverer
a basketball player

But mostly to be in the arms of the one
the one that hides him
His mother
His father
to go on fishing trips with his dad
to be wrapped in the tender arms of his mom

Yes, here lies a gift of God
resting in silence
resting in the peace of the mothers womb
a gift of God to a father and mother

Then in shock, heaven stops in silence
all of heaven silent
they peer down
Wheres the heartbeat of the child?
Wheres the destiny?
The gift
the jewel
the Almighty God leans over in soberness
as tears stream down His face

Then there at the edge of heaven
comes in the baby walking back into heaven
with a shocked face
as he asks
Why didnt she want me?
