The #DecadeChallenge

Posted on Monday 25 November 2019Monday 25 November 2019 by Joshua

A decade is about to come to a close and the 20s are about to begin. How wild to think that someday we will talk about the days of “back in the 20s.” As I was looking through photos from 10 years ago, I found this one — from the day Robert and I discovered geocaching (thank you Glenda Thompson). I went back to the same place after church today and took the same picture a decade later.

Physical change is inevitable, but my hope is that I have changed spiritually, mentally. I hope that I am more of a giver, more of a seeker, more open minded, more chill, more healed, less worried, more enlightened, less rigid, more full of wonder, more full of joy, more of aware of Christ in the moments, more steady and not swayed by the fray… yeah…. all of that. There have been moments of great sadness and loss, of laughter and ridiculous stories, of celebrating new life and new relationships and friendships. There have been great projects constructed, and old things torn down or renovated into new life. Photography has become more of a passion for me, and capturing the beauty of creation and the moments of life is a privilege.

Anyway, before this goes off into a rambling nostalgic trip, I am excited to see what the next decade holds. In the words of Rod Stewart… “May the good Lord be with you down every road you roam…”
