Ten Years of Blogging (Blojjing)

With everything going on in the past couple weeks, the anniversary date of my ten years of writing online – first on blogger then to wonderbox.us – came and went. I began on April 15th 2001 with the encouragement of my old high school friend, Jason. My mom pronounced it wrote and called it a bloj, so that is what I refer to it as… my bloj. Dave Carey had been encouraging me to write in a regular journal, and I had just begun that. But I did the online thing too. So here it is… ten years later. How amazing. Looking back over the years of posts, it is amazing how I have changed in so many ways. It’s great to read back over the journey.

Life has been interesting. There have been many victories, many blessings, and many amazing things happen that I can’t even begin to tell here. The stories are all there… written down – or typed – for you to peruse at your leisure. The triumphs and unexpected things that have happened that have caused me so much joy – from becoming debt free, to receiving miraculous gifts, to the restoration of friends… so, so many good things.

The sad and difficult parts have been there too. I’ve lost a grandmother, grandfather and most recently, my dad. Friends have moved away and moved on, and things have happened that you never planned to happen that way, nor wished would happen. That is a part of the journey.

I have gone from working at a college and a steady income and benefits to baling hay in a field in the middle of the hot summer for a non-profit organization – scratching my head saying, what in the world am I doing this for!? But, oh the great things that have happened since I have been here. I would not trade it for anything. I have met new friends, and have become part of a close family. They have truly become my second family.

So who knows what will happen in the next ten years. Life will happen, that is for sure. And the Lord will continue to move and work and change me because that is what He does so well. And I know that in ten years, I will be farther along in my walk with Him, and hopefully a little wiser.

The Lord is good, and He has blessed me so much. All I have and all I am are because of who He is to me. The Lord is the strength of my life and He has become my salvation. In Him do I seek refuge and in Him do I make my praise abide. Oh, give thanks unto the Lord for He is good and His mercies endure forever!
