Isn’t it amazing how the mainstream liberal left of our nation is so completely hypocritical and out of touch? Here we have Florida Gator’s football star, Tim Tebow, a unashamed and outspoken Christian, doing a 30 second pro-life ad during the SuperBowl and it’s like everyone in the mainstream media and the “left side” of the country is having a conniption. You would think it was the worst thing since Hitler to talk about a respect for life and defending the rights of an unborn child. For a group that champions social causes, self-actualization and individual rights, it amazes me. Interestingly enough, a May 2009 Gallup poll finds that more Christians are pro-life than pro-death. I will be interested to see the ad. CBS has had calls to, but does not plan to pull it.
Wow. I understand that people do not agree with every view point but come on. Not to mention the basic first amendment rights secure his voice to be heard.
On another note, most people who have such insecurities are hiding something or afraid of something. Perhaps the message may persuade some to not kill their baby and thereby the industry would lose money. Personally, I think bloodguilt is way more dangerous than a weak bottom line.
I finally learned that the mainstream liberal left isn’t “pro-choice”. They are “anti-life” (actually “anti-anything that doesn’t agree with our idiology”). If they were truely “pro-choice”, they would be OK with ANY choice made by the women. But they aren’t. The only choice they are OK with is abortion…
I finally saw the commercial via Focus on the Family’s website and if I’m seeing the right one (or two) then I have NO IDEA what all the fuss is about. There isn’t one trace or slightest hint about Pro Life. I don’t get it.
Now I did listen to the interview with his mom and dad and that was pretty straight forward.
Did I see the right thing?
Liz – yeah, I was pretty suprised when I saw it. It was honestly a nice pleasant ad which said nothing at all. Too bad, honestly, I was hoping for a strong stance on this issue.
