“Joshua Petrillo? Where are you? Come on up here.” Bob Deering was sitting up on the stage on a high back stool, cordless mic in hand, ready for an interview. I walked up the steps and hopped up on to the other stool and fumbled around trying to figure out how to turn on my cordless mic. The Horizon Center stage is much larger than most stages I have spoken from, so it was a touch intimidating. Looking out, I could see all the chairs full of people, the bright spot lights, and heard my voice reverberating through the room. I thought, “Gosh, I am shouting here.” I wasn’t, but it sure felt like it. When you think that everyone is sitting there waiting to hear what profound nugget of wisdom you are about to say, it can be a little unnerving. At any rate, I was able to give testimony of becoming debt free, how amazing it feels, and how great God is. And it is also really cool to get applauded and appreciated publicly. It’s not something I seek, or really even feel comfortable with, but inside it sure made me feel really good to know that there are a lot of people out there who appreciate what I do. So, it was a good day and I felt for the first time that things are finally getting settled over there and we are beginning to get into a rhythm.
That’s great man! I know you’re not necessarily at home in front of people, but you’ve got a lot of great things to say. I’m almost positive you will be looked for and have been looked to as a leader in this area at Voice. I wouldn’t be surprised if people came up to you and asked how you did it, what advice you would give and open all kinds of doors for you to speak with people one-on-one (which is probably more comfortable than the latter). I’m very excited for your accomplishment my friend! : )
You definitely have the debt whittling testimony!
Your commitment to living clean and unchained financially is commendable to say the least.
I’m proud of you all over the place. 🙂
i like the new look.
You sounded great!!! Couldn’t tell you were nervous at all…I actually thought to myself, “How did he get so comfortable with speaking?” So…Kudos to you my friend!!! I’m ALMOST out of debt… I have a little less then $4000 to go!!! Woot Woot! I’m very excited! i’m sure it’s a VERY freeing feeling! 🙂 Thanks again for helping me with my speakers…well when you do. 🙂 haha! K. Gonna go…Love ya buddy!
I am not going to worry about our debts! God will see us through!
Yes the Lord will see you through your debt. But he doesn’t want you to be a slave to no one. Look in Proverbs, it says a lot not to owe money to anyone, and do not be a slave to them either.
