The other day I was driving down this dusty country back road and I came over a hill and noticed three beautiful white swans gliding through a large algae covered swamp. A strange juxtaposition of pure white grace and green slime, I had to stop and capture it. As I stood on the side of this quiet road and watched the birds, I thought to myself, “I wonder why they would choose to swim in the muck, when there is a lake just down the road – clean and clear.” Then I realized that it’s a picture of how we operate as well. We choose to swim the swamp, trying to avoid the slime. We were created to be pure white vessels – beautiful – yet we become mired in the places that drag us down. We are content to try and wend our way about the muck, when all the while waiting for us just around the corner is an open lake, beautiful and blue. All we have to do is lift our wings and leave the junk that holds us down behind us and find the freedom in what’s waiting for us just over the hill.
Well, based off your post, since we are NOT in clear blue lakes, could it be logical that it is more likely that we are actually PURPOSED to be in muddy waters?
Maybe we just take the easy way out!
the muddy waters are self imposed, brought on by agreements with things that are not truth and our inability for whatever reason to lift our gaze.
