For a week I had a dog. He is a great dog – well mannered, obedient, quiet and loves people. Not a jumper or a chewer, this dog is the coolest. He’s half golden retriever half short-haired German pointer and I thought I would try it out and see what it was like having a big dog around the house again. My friend, Collette, had this dog named Spartacus who used to belong to her dad, and she really wanted me to have him. I tried it and it didn’t work out though, sad to say. See the thing is, Sparty is an amazing dog… but like I said, he loves people. And when there are no people, he howls and wails. And the problem is that I am away an awful lot, and as much as I love having this dog, I could not take the fact that he would be alone all day, howling and crying. So he is back at Collette’s where he has room to run and where his mom – Angel – is. He is happy and I can go see him anytime I want. But I taught him to swim and he enjoyed sleeping on my bed while I was away. Here are some pics from our day at the lake.
Awwww man! Well, that’s too bad. I know the demands of your schedule, in part, ad so it must be bittersweet to be so close and have reality make the decision for you. I hope one day you can get a dog again — however that happens. : )
Can’t believe that is Angel’s puppy. My memories of Angel are when she was first brought to Bob’s house and she would bark all night long… 🙂
I told you just to bring him to work with you and let him hang out in my office. See, problem solved. Now go back and get him!
ABC has a great idea!
Yes we loved him too
