An Evening at The Plaza in Kansas City, MO
While I was in Kansas City, I was able to write again – it was so nice to be in such a place of revelation and worship. During one two-hour session, an amazing woman named Misti Edwards sang – and the stuff she was singing was so amazing. It is so obvious that 1. this girl was created to worship Jesus and 2. she spends significant time in the Word, because of the level and depth of her language of worship. A few things she sung caught my attention and I wrote them down. [Actually I wrote about 10 pages, but I won’t share all of that now.]
This phrase is so awesome:
It’s the inside outside upside down kingdom
Where you lose to gain
And you die to live
Man, that is so descriptive of what Jesus is asking of us – it seems so ridiculous and foolish to follow this paradoxical mixed up foolish illogical path of faith, but it is the only way to live. It’s what I strive for!
I like this one too…
You’re a mystery
Like poetry
Like a parable
A rhyme or a riddle
You’re a mystery
Wrapped in clouds
Shouting so loud
Just waiting to be discovered
You’re a mystery
So intriguing…so inviting…
The dance of the lover and his bride… such an awesome picture. There was so much more, but the experience of being able to soak in the presence of the Lord is so awesome. I know that sounds odd to say, but there’s really no other way to describe it.
Josh – Loved reading what you wrote about KC. Misty Edwards is great… I have one of her CDs. You always apologize about what you write… “I know that sounds odd to say, but …” It DOESN’T sound odd! “Soaking in the presence of the Lord” is amazing!
Matt
PS – Scott Feather… Wow. How have YOU been??
