The boat usually goes in the water around this time of year, and today seemed like a great one for trying it out. We spend a wonderfully leisurely day on the St. Joseph River in Elkhart with Denny’s family. They have a huge home on the river, complete with a waterfall that runs down a steep hill into a pond. One of their friends owns several Dodge Vipers, and I had the thrill of riding with him in his Dodge Viper truck. Essentially it is a Dakota with a Viper engine, 22″ wheels and a supercharged turbo. We went from 0-104 in no time at all. Amazing, is all I could say.
It’s me, skipping a wake in Michigan.
After we got home, I thought about taking the SeaDoo out on the lake, but didn’t feel like driving it down to Winona. So I trailered it up to Juno Lake in Michigan. Actually, there are three connected lakes: Juno, Christianna and Painter. The lakes were amazingly calm given the amount of traffic on them and it made for some fun riding. It’s always good for me to try out new places as I am so used to Winona. When I ride, I love to stand and put my feet to the back of the boat and lean far forward, hands on the handlebars, thumb pushing it to full throttle. It’s like flying right over the water – reflections of the clouds on the water sailing by, water splashing you as you break it, the wind in your face, the smell of the water, the sound of the engine behind you, tears running from your eyes… it’s awesome. So that was my evening…just skipping some wakes in Michigan. The perfect end to a perfectly good day.
Wow!! Looks daring and fun. It would take a lot to get me to do something like that. Although, I am beginning to find thrills in facing my fears, lately.
Anyway….glad that you had such a day.
That sounds wonderful! I didn’t have a sea doo but I did go canoeing a couple times this weekend on the cape. A friend of mine has a Beach house there and so it was an amazing relaxing weekend. Glad you had fun! 🙂
