Ok, I thought it was time for a picture post since it has been a while and since I am feeling glad to be alive today. I’ll start with that. While working on the Ranch this morning installing a post and rail fence, my friend Spencer and I ran the big auger into a buried natural gas line. Fortunately, we had enough sense to immediately shut everything off and clear the area, because let me just say that the gas was gushing pretty well there. So, kids, before you dig, blast, or drill, call your local utility finder company and make your life much easier…and cheaper. And it is by an act of God’s protection, grace and mercy that we did not hit the buried power line…otherwise, I would not be here tonight typing this entry.
That’s me on the tractor with our freshly repaired auger. Let me tell you how much it rocks to use this rather than post hole diggers.
This is Spencer talking to Bob. That’s the hole with the broken gas line out of which is pouring gas. Spencer tried to duct tape it. He was quite unsuccessful. The gas guy fixed it fairly quickly though.
Robert and I put up a basketball goal on a concrete slab that we had here at the Lodge. All the lines are regulation for college… As much as our little slab would allow anyway.
Uhhh…. what am I supposed to do with this?
Bean the dirty little Chihuahua… always curious and always rolling in odious substances…
Two roads diverged in a wood…and I took the one by the gurgling stream! I so enjoyed my time in the woods walking with the Lord yesterday.
Here are some pictures of some of the flowers that grew along the sides of the paths I walked. God is truly amazing to create such beauty. There are just tons of these purple flowers… I love the white Trilliam and not sure what the yellow is, but it is beautiful too. Maybe I should educate myself on some of their names. Put that on my list.
For future reference, and knowing from working with Kris doing fences, and using and auger. When you hit a gas line, you are supposed to cover it with dirt immediatly and run as fast as you can. God was definitly there because the static of a roll of duct tape being pulled by a gas line could have blown you up!!! So, I guess, now you know 🙂
Wow!! I’m honored to know you. God must have quite the plan for your life since you almost died twice in one day. I’d count this a new day for you….a new beginning….so…ask Him what He has in mind from this day forward…Wow!!! I’m glad your alive, too!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just wondering, whats a basketball goal? Is it mix of a scooer goal played with a basketball instead of a soccer ball? HAHAHA jk, Joshy, I like the baskeball HOOP….looks good! Glad you are ok!
