Dr Who, an old British sci/fi tv show, traveled about in a flying police call box (which looked somewhat like an American telephone booth). Now to see it from the outside, Average Joe would think it would be rather cramped to fly about in such a fashion. However, once he would step inside the door, he would find a huge ship inside. This doesn’t make sense for the interior dimensions to be so much larger than the exterior dimensions … but after all, it is science fiction. And as well all know, it is just that … fiction. Or is it?
I was reading a book this evening and the discussion revolved around the Ark of the Covenant and the space time continuum. When the Israelites were in the desert and Aaron’s staff burst into bloom, God told Moses to put it in the Ark of the Covenant. (Numbers 17:10, Hebrews 9:4). Keep in mind that the size of the Ark was 3 to 4′ long by 2.5′ high. (Exodus 25). Then think of a shepherd’s staff. The average staff is 6 to 7′ long. The Bible states that Aaron’s staff was placed inside the ark. Thus the only way it would fit inside the ark is if the inside dimensions were not bound by the outside dimensions. Isn’t it interesting that inside the Ark, Manna would stay fresh and a budding rod with almonds would continue to bloom. That being said… I wonder if inside the Ark there was the absence of all four dimensions – length width, height, and time – thus preserving both the manna and the buds.
Quite the thought there, Mr. Wonderbox. I like it.
