Yep… today is a great day. I sent an e-check today for $829.21 to Nelnet Student Loan Services to PAY OFF my student loans. I began paying them in late 1995 or so and owed somewhere around $19,000. But today, a little over 10 years later, I can finally raise my hands in jubilant victory and say my college education has been completely paid for. Can you tell I am excited about this? It is yet another milestone on my road to debt freedom. That brings me to only owing $8,770 until I am completely debt free. Three years ago I owed about $30,000. There is something so freeing in paying off debt and I am looking forward to the day that I will be free from the bondage of owing money to creditors. God is good and through these years he has been teaching me a whole lot about faith, giving, discipline and frugality. So I will continue to walk down this road … but now it is becoming more of a jog!
Congratulations!! Also for the little tiny bill they let you off the hook for! 🙂 hehehe! okay talk to you soon. >darc-

casey – there is always hope!
Hurray! Josh, I am so proud of you. I know it has taken determination, self control, patience and lots of prayer. I think I will be retired by the time my student loans will be paid off as I am now just starting to have the payments going toward the principal (sp?) instead of the interest. But it is sure nice to see that amount going down slowly, even if it is only by a few dollars.
You inspire me! 🙂 xx00 Mom
