We have a publication in our area called The Paper. There is a section in there called Speak Out where callers call in and leave a message and The Paper then prints the message. This has provided a rich source of humor over the years. Today I read this message: “Can someone tell me why they don’t put salt on the roads when it snows? I keep sliding off the road and hitting stuff.” I think that whoever this person is has bigger issues than slippery roads.
Haha, how I miss the sandy winters in Indiana.
I wreck my car 3 times in one days before in the winter…Josh I am your number one fan!
Here in NY they sometimes put the salt down often times it’s a skating rink, this winter hasn’t been bad yet only 25 inches of crap compared to the usual 65 inches of snow/ice.
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee sliding all the way in a circle. more fun when u try the brakes. Just kidding
vermont doesn’t believe in using salt, sand or plowing the passing lanes on the major highways and they even post signs saying that.
us flannel shirt flatlanders get a kick out of watching the massholes, or connecticut and new yorkers flip their SUV over because they think their 4 wd is going to help on ice.
what this state does is let the early morning traffic plow thru the snow and ice and then around 900 am after the plow crew has had their 3rd coffee break (got to love them state employees notice i didn’t say workers) drive their trucks down the road with the plows in up position and the salt spreaders shut off.
god we love the tourist especially the tow truck drivers, and the body shops, hospitals, etc.
welcome to VERMONT come and play in our snow.
and here i thought only indiana plow trucks drove with their plows up!
