So even though I was fully aware of the fact that I was supposed to set my clock an hour forward last night, when it came time to do it, I completely forgot. I got up this morning as usual and went about my morning getting ready for church. Suddenly a knock came at the bathroom door and Denny was there. He said, “hey did you guys forget to set your clocks ahead?” I looked at the clock and said “Oh gosh… it is 10:10 isn’t it?” So I had to rush to get to church by 10:30. Usually I try and get there by 9:40 so we can get the Powerpoint set up and everything ready.
You see, this is why I call it Daylight Irritation Time. Not only is it irritating, but it’s archaic and ridiculous that we still continue to observe this practice in the year 2008. Farmers needing extra light to milk cows or whatever… craziness. Indiana was capitulating and conforming when they changed to observing it. This vexes me and I feel that we should boycott this antiquated system.
Wow, stunning use of big words in that last paragraph. Are you bored or something???
I couldn’t agree more! I’ll sign your petition.
I didn’t forget to set my clocks forward, I thought Tim did and he thought I did. I completely abhor having to change the time. It takes a week or more for my internal clock to adjust to the switch.
Truth be told, if I had my way I wouldn’t even “live by the clock” anymore. But for now this is the season I am in and I will learn to rejoice and be glad! 🙂
I totally agree and I am now on the East Coast. I can never remember what and when we have to do it because well, I grew up and lived practically my whole life in Indiana! So, for me its irritating.
Thanks for the post sorry you had to be rushed!!
