Plastic Chains of Slavery

Posted on Thursday 28 June 2012 by Joshua

At one time in my life I thought I had freedom because I had “purchasing power” but it was all a big lie. Some of these cards had thousands of dollars of spending limits. But the Lord is good and despite a few years of stupid financial choices, He brought me to a place of realizing that debt is not His way and that true faith means relying on Him and not Visa for my needs! All these credit cards are but a memory and since 2008 I have been debt free!

This photo represents many of the cards I had – there were over 20 in this pic alone! I found them tonight and thought I would share that if you want to get out from bondage and slavery, cut these plastic crutches up or cancel them and start walking on faith. It’s a hard step to do, but I promise you, the Lord will honor your choice to follow the financial principles that are found in His word!

So true. I’d rather be poor and free from creditors than have great possessions and live with the pressures of financial slavery. Plus, wouldn’t you agree it is better to give opportunity for the Lord to provide possessions than getting purchasing power and taking control yourself?
