The other day I watched Lord of the Rings: Return of the King and this part came up and I thought of my father and the hope of which he had so often spoken –imagining those pristine white shores and the land of green beyond… it is the hope that keeps me going. Knowing that somewhere in that great beyond – in the land where there is no darkness, hatred, pain or tears, in a land of perfect peace, amazing love, eternal joy, in the land where the Creator of the universe dwells, in the very land that Jesus is – to that land I will go and be reunited with my Dad and walk a mountain trail to a crystal lake …
Isaiah 33:17 — Your eyes will see the King in his beauty, and see a land that stretches into the distance.
Finally Home
When alarmed by the fury of the restless sea,
Towering waves before you roll,
At the end of doubt and peril is eternity,
Though fear and conflict seize your soul
Just think of stepping on shore, and finding it heaven
Of touching a hand, and finding it God’s
Of breathing new air, and finding it celestial
Of waking up in Glory, and finding it “Home”
When surrounded by the blackness of the darkest night,
Oh how lonely death can be,
At the end this long tunnel is a shinning light,
For death is swallowed-up in Victory, (Victory!)
Just think of stepping on shore, and finding it heaven
Of touching a hand, and finding it God’s
Of breathing new air, and finding it celestial
Of waking up in Glory, and finding it “Home”
Finally Home! …by Don Wyrtzen
wow… that song brought back many memories… i forget who used to sing it at church, but i remember it well. good song.
I often find myself singing parts of songs. The picture of stepping on shore and seeing Jesus, finding my hew home gives me comfort.
Another song is “I’ll fly away.”
Comfort knowing that your father is finally home with his Savior
