Of Tree Huggers

Breathing Deep...

Years ago, my Dad came to Winona Lake for a brief visit. One morning we took a walk in the woods and came across this massive Burr Oak. He walked over to it, looked up the tree, grabbed it just just hugged it … “listening to the sound of it breathing,” he said. It was so quiet and peaceful that morning. So today, while I was on a ride in those same woods, I passed that tree and had to stop. I leaned back, looked up, and put my arms around it and listened for a moment, thinking of Dad … a true tree hugger in every respect of the phrase. Missing you today Dad.
