The other day, my blonde-headed friend, Robert, and I were driving down the road. A large tractor approached us and as it thundered past, he said, “Oh, that’s a tractor. I thought it was one of those concubines.” I sputtered, “What?!” He goes, “You know, a concubine.” I started laughing so hard, but managed to get out, “You mean combine?!” He said, “Yeah, that’s what I mean.” Still laughing, I asked, “Do you even know what a concubine is?”
I was impressed that he knew the word concubine though. For those of you in the midwest who may not have ever read the King James Version of the Bible, a concubine is a woman who cohabits with a man without being legally married to him. Oddly enough, Solomon had 300 concubines (along with 700 wives). Not oddly enough, they turned his heart away from God. ** EDIT ** [And after I wrote that… I checked the other translations and they all use the word concubine.]
So next time you see one of those big green concubines coming down the road, just remember to get out of her way.
Nice PS work on the side of the concubine!
Oh my word….I just laughed sooo hard! That is too funny! Hope you are doing well. Talk to you soon! >Darc-
Classic.
“…a woman who cohabits with a man without being legally married to him.”
You could have just said whore. But I like that you try. 🙂
That was hilarious! Oh how I miss the Robert comments of the day. When I read your comment on my xanga I busted out laughing and everyone in the staff lounge just looked at me strangely. It was great. I tried to leave a comment on Robert’s web site, but this lap top that I am on would not show the letters that you have to type, so I could not leave one. So sad. Anyway, I have to get going, but keep me filled in on the Robert quotes.
i would like to add that if you see any colored concubine coming down the road (especially green) get outta the way.
Where the heck was the guy this morning? You were all by yourself up there today. I had to stand back there to keep you company…well, me and baby Maddie! 🙂
