My Saturday routine often includes listening to Car Talk on NPR. Today they had a riddle on there which went something like this: “If a chicken and a half laid an egg and a half in a day in a half, how long would it take for 2 chickens to lay 32 eggs?” Naturally, I was unable to figure this out as I was driving.
So, I thought I would ask Robert a very obvious riddle which I assumed he had heard before. Apparently, though, he had not. I said, “Hey Robert, if a chicken and a half laid an egg and a half in a day in a half, how much would a pound of butter weigh?” He sat there for a few moments and said with all earnestness, “That’s impossible, you can’t make butter out of eggs!” So there you go folks…
the answer was to ask one of the guards, which door would the other guy say leads to freedom, and then choose the opposite. thanks to ed, eric, and dave for the help on this one.i did get it by the deadline too, i just forgot to post it!
“What is 2 + 2?” Got it!
oh boy… uhhh… this one will make me think…
A man is in a room with two doors. One door leads to freedom, the other a certain death. Guarding these doors are two soldiers. One of which no matter what you ask him, lies. The other, always tells the truth. The man does not know which soldier is which. The man does not know which door the soldiers are standing at. There is one question that could be asked to one of the guards that will reveal the right door to walk out to freedom. Joshua, to you I ask, “What is that question?”
I’ll give you 24 hours, 4:20pm on Oct. 25th. If you are not able to figure this out, something very bad will happen to you.
Oh Dear! How I miss you all! Hugs!
