Not exactly sure where I was going with that thought last time I wrote. There was a bunch of people here when I was typing so my train of thought [obviously] was not on my writing.
I am sitting here in the living room on a Sunday afternoon looking out at the brilliant reflection of the sun off the wet driveway. It has been a quiet morning. I got up late and just did nothing all morning. Two little Catholic school girls came to the door selling coupons for $3. Even though I don’t ever eat at Burger King, I remember what it was like selling stuff in elementary school, so I bought a book from them.
The prizes always seemed so cool back then, but now when I look back on them, they were pretty lame. “If you sell $5,000 worth of stuff you can have a $100 am/fm casette stereo system from K-Mart.” The best thing I ever got was a clock radio with a casette player in it. I thought it was the cooloest thing in the whole world. I had to work my tail off for it too. We were selling candles and christmas tree ornaments that year. Somehow I managed to do really well at it and earned this great prize. Actually, it was pretty nice and I had it for quite a few years. I eventually gave it to my mom when I went off to school, and who knows, it might still be around.
