“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times; it ws the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness; it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity; it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness; it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair; we had everything before us, we had nothing before us; we were all going directly to Heaven, we were all going the other way.” — Charles Dickens
That pretty much sums up how i feel about 2007. It had its highs, definitely its lows. There were some victories and many defeats. It ended in woundedness and deception. It ended in prayer for rescue. It ended in hope for restoration. 2008 is a new start. Already, the way 2007 ended has been reversed. I believe that confrontation will equal transformation, and God is good. A situation that the enemy meant for his purposes has been taken back for the Lord. Greater is HE that is in us than he that is in the world. I cling to that promise.
So this year is ahead of us – a clean slate, a fresh beginning. I pray that it will be a year of hope, a year of the outpouring of blessing, a year of favor, of positive change. I pray that the remnants of the past year will be covered in fresh thinking, perspective and renewed commitment. I am excited for 2008.
Joshua, I am praying in agreement for the prayer you have so hopefully prayed. 🙂 Blessings and new adventures as you start this new year.
Ephesians 3:14-21
would love to hear about some of those struggles sometime….through fire we are definitely better off, so I will pray for strength in the “defeats.” I miss our college dorm “struggles.” lol
You have a courageous heart and I know the Lord loves your continuous, “Yes!”. May all of His purposes for your life come to full fruition.
Ah, a quote from the classic “A tale of two cities”. You know, at the end of that book, one character goes to his death for someone else. “A far, far better thing I do than I have ever done before.” You’re more prophetic than you think.
My dear friend, I am with you in heart and spirit and prayer….always.
Hope is most definitely the flow in which our Heavenly Father can work best. 🙂
I second, third and fourth your motion for blessing, favor and positive change!
May our dear friend and guide, Holy Spirit, hover with relentless perseverance over all of our lives, whispering divine truths with eternal wisdom to our hungering souls.
