Today is the end of National Poetry Month. To commemorate the end of National Poetry Month, blog about your favorite poem and provide at least one link to other poems and/or a bio of the poet.
Hmmm…. my favorite poem is actually one written by this profoundly deep yet strangely dramatic woman. She has three children, one of whom just smeared a bunch of vaseline all over her body. This woman has a flair for dramatic yes, but also likes to live on the wild side. She actually was riding her dirt bike at nine months pregnant. She loves art, music and creating. She is pretty doggone good at all of those things too. She’s a hard worker and understands people and how to serve them and make them feel good. She has a great sense of humor and is often know to do interesting impersonations on answering machines. Her poetry comes from the many experiences that have shaped who she is, and I, for one, really enjoy her poetry. This is one of my favorite poems. Oh yeah, this woman is my favorite and only sister, Sara Winter.
Im falling up up towards the ground
where robins cry and babies sing
up towards crumbling dirt and pure
clean water
to this place I go where no one can find
me where I can peace sleepfully and
think slowly so as not to disturb the
gentle things in my brain
the things that make my heart beat when
I hear your voice whispering in my
ear
things that shake my head in amazement
to see how weve grown
so to this place of falling up I tip my cup
and drink
and let the brew fill you too
so you can take the trip of wonders
