Mother’s Day � an official day created to give honor to the person who brought us into the world.

Mom, you are a special person. You have taught me a lot in life. I have watched your example of servanthood my entire life. You have always been a good listener and someone that people feel comfortable talking to (myself included). I have seen you help so many young women at the abortion alternative center, teach children in sunday school, pray with people, counsel people and continually give [above and beyond] yourself. You taught me about giving and by watching you, I learned how. I have seen your determination and excellence in doing your best in what you do. From the work you did in the office, to pursuing your degree and the huge amounts of time and energy it has taken to be so far away from everyone, I know that you are giving it your best. And I believe that God will honor that.

So on this special day to honor you and your commitment to our family, and more importantly, to Jesus Christ I pray the a tremendous blessing from God upon you. I pray that He will strengthen you and give you joy in your work and pursuits. I pray that he will surround you with love and support from family and friends. I thank Him that you are his child and that because of you and your faithfulness, I came to know Him at age 5. That was one of the greatest gifts that a mother could give, and I am so thankful to you for it. I pray that God will continue to use to to minister to people and that everyday, your joy in Him will be renewed daily.

My son, obey your father’s commands, and don’t neglect your mother’s teaching. Keep their words always in your heart. Tie them around your neck. Wherever you walk, their counsel can lead you.
