Updating us all on the use of the word “Meh,” I came across a recent article on FoxNews. Guess what? They have put it in the dictionary! I previously posted about it on October 25, 2005. “The dictionary defines “meh” as an expression of indifference or boredom, or an adjective meaning mediocre or boring. Examples given by the dictionary include “the Canadian election was so meh.” Isn’t an apt reflection of our culture today?
That is hilarious! Josh you are such a trend-setter.
Nah… All credit is due Jimmy Thorn and Wes Ruvalcaba. They introduced me to the word years ago!
Meh, I would like to see strategery in there as well
You should include a photo of you wearing your “meh” shirt.
A friend of mine was throwing around the word fun-er in a sentence, using it as if she just discovered a new fossil fuel. I asked where the word came from in her vocabulary for clearly it is a new finding. She relayed to me that she discovered it in the dictionary! Its referenced as a slang for fun. Surely that is not in an older dictionary but the most recent edition that caters to our culture.
What on earth have we done with the english language? We are marring the eloquence and strength of even the simplest of words.
Words.
Our word and words are our testimony.
Life and death are on our tongue.
I miss the thinking and ways of old where words had weight and people only spoke what was of meaning.
