Madison Greene led worship last night at the Meeting Place. Wow, that was really something. There were 4 carloads of people from Grace that followed me up to the Elco last night. Madison Greene is self descibed as “ethnic flavored aggressive acoustic style of music with celtic and tribal undertones. They have a mix of instruments including hand drums, acoustic guitar, violin, bass, and many instruments from various different countries. It was an amazing experience. Miranda Stone opened the show. Great vocals, sweet guitar.
I had a lot more here… but my computer froze and deleted it all. grrrr.
It’s Monday morning I am driving to work. There was no snow on the ground as I left the garage, but as I was about halfway there, suddenly snow. Blowing … drifting, I was like “what the heck. ” As I neared an intersection, and applied the brakes, I began to slide. Fortunately, I was not going very fast. Unfortunately, the lady in front of me decided not to move. And I knew as I was sliding slowly toward her car that I was going to hit. Then I hit the back of her car with a bang. The worst part of the whole thing was that she was this nice older lady whose dad had just died and she was on her way to handle that situation. I felt so bad about that. So we quickly exchanged information and went our seperate ways. All I know is that this is going to cost me a lot of money which I don’t especially have at the moment. This is the first time I have ever had an accident with anyone where I was at fault. The damage to the Wonderbox was about $870. It smashed my front lights out and messed up the bumper. I spent a cheery evening putting some plastic and ductape over it until I get it to the shop on the 18th.
Monday night was an exciting learning opportunity as Jason Bodley came over and we attempted to be all manly and change the brake pads on his car. Well, neither of us had ever actually done it before, everyone just told us how easy it was. (Which might be true in an ideal world, but not this one.) We began the arduous process at 7pm and somewhat finished at 1:45am-ish. They are in, and I hope they work. The whole problem with it was the bleeding of the lines. Dad told me (in an 11:30pm call) that we should not have had to do that, but the pads were so worn and the pistons were so far out that with out the “all important” C-clamp, we had no other alternative that we could figure out (being novices and all). At any rate, Jimmy Thorn came over to stay and added his expertise to the whole mix of ignorance. At least we can say now that we did it, and hopefully we are a little smarter for next time.
