I know that ludicrosity is not a real word, but it is all I could conceive of to describe my feeling while shopping this afternoon. It has been pretty cold this week. Ok, it has been downright FREEZING. Despite the frigid weather, I do not and have not owned a winter hat since I was a kid. (My mother used to have to force me to wear one. I don’t really know why. Later on I never wore one for fear of messing up my hair. Ironic eh!) At any rate, I thought it would be wise to have one what with the blowing wind and extremely cold temperatures… and the fact that my hair is not as thick on the top of my head as it once was. Well, imagine my consternation as I walked into Meijer and was unable to find any winter coats, hats, scarfs or gloves. The next stop was Target. Nope. not there either. But Target had it’s spring line of bathing suits prominently displayed… yeah. Board shorts – that’s exactly what I want to think about buying when I am holding a cup of hot chocolate and wearing my Columbia cold weather coat! So, I then headed over to the practical store – Wal-Mart. Yup, they sure did have a whole aisle of hats, scarves and gloves… and winter coats too. So now I can say I have a winter hat. Although it still annoys me to wear it, my ears are smiling at the fact that they are so nicely warm.
Yah, I must say I am in a frantic state right now. I can’t find my mittens. I have had these mittens for 6 years. They are my favorite. And I am not gonna have a pair like em for a long time I am sure. Ugh! Jesus please help me find them!
Okay, my other issue. There is two guys I work with here at camp and they are both good friends however they are such weirdos! One day Aaron has on flip flops and shorts with his winter jacket and mittens and then the other has a hat, jacket and shorts. I just don’t get it!
All I do get is that I freeze anymore and I like to be warm! So there ya have it! ha!
Hmmm… “I do not and have not owned a winter hat”, “So now I can say I have a winter hat.”
Point still taken… It’s artic cold.
