Life Update

Posted on Saturday 5 September 2009Saturday 5 September 2009 by Joshua

Well my gosh… life has been rushing by in a blur. It was such a quick summer it seems. I spent so much time on the lake this summer, which was awesome. I found this new lake just 15 minutes away and it has an easy access in and out, so that’s where Josh, Robert and the Sea Doo spent the summer after work and weekends. And the good thing is that she ran really well this season too. Kansas City was on the horizon for the beginning of August, and it seems that just as soon as Robert got back from school, he was off again. It was good having him around this summer to help out at the Horizon Center. So I spent a week in Kansas City enjoying the 90+ degree heat and humidity and spending many hours in the pool at the Stark’s posh gated apartment complex. Being at IHOP reminded me again how much I loved and how much I miss the energy of college aged kids – all that passion and how that time of life is where you are developing your thoughts and beliefs as your own. One night, Robert and I had just gone through his class orientation and we decided to find out where the VanLue’s had moved to. We found their house and saw Cameron and Rick unloading this huge truck full of stuff by themselves. It was incredibly hot and humid and Cameron looked exhausted, so we jumped in and got that baby unloaded in an hour flat. I think somehow I have this moving annointing. I have helped more people move over the years…

When I returned, the Starks and Careys came up for a visit to Voice – speaking and singing at the Sunday service. We all hung out at the Deering’s afterward for an awesome picnic and it was so good to just … be … together again. At one point, I had to choose whose chicken I liked better, Bob’s or Corey’s. And I have to say, it is a toss up. They are both amazing. Bob made me some just the other day that was just so good. Then again, I love chicken.

Lately, I have been working on my room. I didn’t do much over the summer on it, just because I spent so much time at the lake, and hanging out with Robert since he is only here for a short time. So now, I am back on it. I have finished the drywall (mostly) and primed it all. The ceiling is in the midst of being insulated and I have the wood and Scott Devlin’s saw, so hopefully soon, I will make some progress on finishing that up. Then all I will have is the flooring, painting the walls the final colors, the trim, some doors, the kitchenette cabinets and counter and a few final details and it will be ready. There’s a lot of work in that sentence, but hey, it makes my life interesting, right?

This weekend is Candy’s wedding at the Camp. We are praying for nice weather, and I will say that with all this sun and rain of late, the grass is looking quite brilliant. So it will be a busy week in preparation for this event. Exciting though, to be sure.

Some women have the “Bridesmaid” anointing and you have the “moving” anointing. 🙂
It was great to “be” with everyone!
