Yota Labels

Tonight I stuck a Wonderbox sticker on the back of the Toyota. It’s been a little while since I’ve had a label on the back of my vehicle and it’s kinda cool seeing it there again. My father was the one who dubbed my 81 Civic “the Wonderbox” since it had 260,000 miles on it and the entire bottom was coated with roofing tar. It truly was a wonder that it was still going strong. It was a great car – I honestly loved it (most of the time) and drove it back and forth from New York to South Carolina for college and even Florida to visit my grandmother. So the name stuck, and I have called all my subsequent vehicles WonderboxΒ ever since. Some have been, and others … well, not so much. This one is #23 so we shall see how it does.

Another tradition I have had since my Black Pathfinder (#14) is sporting a Nevada Area 51 license plate. When I was in LasVegas with my friend Dave Pacheco, I came across this fine specimen of coolness in “The World’s Largest Gift Shop” and also one of the tackiest and cheesiest places I have ever been. What’s really funny is how many people thing it is real. Sadly, it was destroyed in an accident when I totaled my Pathfinder the day before my friend Jason’s wedding. Even the police officer said to me, “So where you from son, Nevada or Indiana?” The cool thing was that Jason and Kristi were going to Vegas for their Honeymoon, and how awesome it was when they returned with a brand new Area 51 plate for me! I have not had it on since the BMW, so I have been missing seeing it in the past year or so since I sold #22.

So once again, my vehicle is labeled and plated. The Wonderbox is back and Area 51 is real… the truth is out there friends. It really is.

“Wonderbox” is cool, as is “Area 51”, but nothing compares with “Petricheco’s Speedy Motorcoach.” πŸ™‚
