Kojak

Imagine my surprise when Robert walked into the room yesterday (after spending a week at camp as a counselor) looking like Kojak. Apparently a few days into camp, the other counselors saran wrapped him to the bed and shaved his head. Though he is smiling in this picture, he was not all that excited about losing his hair. On the upside of it all, it gives me lots of opportunities for mockery and fun nicknames as I have had to endure the years of him mocking my lessening hair. So, for the first time in a long time, I have more hair than him. That makes me smile. However, his will grow back (hopefully) and he does plan on growing it back out. The best part of it all is him having to face all these people who have given him such a hard time for having long hair. “I’ll NEVER cut it” he boasted. Oh, today will be interesting at church.

*EDIT* Today we stopped at Down To Earth Natural Foods, and the girl at the counter – Aimee I think her name was – who I have only seen once or twice before, had the following conversation.
A – Oh my gosh what did you do? You cut it all off? You look like you are ready to griddle up some flapjacks there.
R – It wasn’t my choice.
A – Going to the army, eh?
R – No, I was a counselor at a camp and they saran wrapped me to a bed and shaved it off.
A – ohhhh that is so awful. (Turns to girl next to her) He had such nice hair – it was long, blonde and straight and flowed when he moved his head. It’s too bad isn’t it.
R – yeah.
A – Well, keep your chin up, it will grow back.
R – yep and I plan on growing it back out!

So from the general consensus so far, the girls dislike it, the older people like it, and the guys laugh.
