I have been thinking quite a bit about the hurricane that hit the south and the devastation it has caused is enormous. I have been praying for the thousands of people who have no homes, who have lost everything they had – from other family members, to pets, to all their personal possessions. I try to imagine myself in this scenario – where I am stuck as a refugee in a hot, smelly, flooded sports arena with 20,000 other people, no working bathrooms, trash everywhere, nothing to go back to, and no way to get anywhere… I can not imagine it.
Lord Jesus, I pray that you would be with those people who are in so much pain and confusion. Let them experience Your presence in the middle of tragedy and sadness. I ask that you will send ministering angels to those still trapped or dying. I pray that your comforting spirit of peace will rest upon them. Strengthen the rescue teams, the police, firemen, soldiers, coast guard, doctors and nurses. Give them clarity of vision and the ability to find people and assist them however necessary. Give them supernatural strength! Though we see this as a massive disaster, somehow Your perfect will is being worked through it and You will be glorified despite any seemingly impossible good that could come of it. Lord, as a result of this, I ask that many would come to know You and the truth of Your word.
and I ask why is the government and this glorious president doing nothing………………..
I add…Lord, open their eyes, hearts, minds, souls, to YOU! For You are calling out their name. Each and everyone. I hear Your greiving, my heart greives with You for their souls. Jesus, may they turn to You! While watching the footage I heard You say, Loud and Clear…”When will they turn toward Me?” May it be today, may it be this hour. God, may distruction not have to bring people to You, but love that flows from those who already love and know You! I want to be a messanger with Your message of love, hope, joy, mercy, grace. Flow from me! May You hear our cries, our prayers and come to their aid. Through Your miracles, Your power, may they see the truth in it all. You did not do it TO them, but You are drawing them to You! Draw them, woo them, and me too! May I ALWAYS hear Your voice and run toward You and not away!
