Blow the trumpet in Zion, consecrate a fast, call a sacred assembly; gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children and nursing babes; let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing room. Let the priests, who minister to the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar; let them say, “Spare your people, O Lord, and do not give Your heritage to reproach” Joel 2:15-17
Beginning on January 1 and going until February 10, we have called a Sacred Assembly. This is a time to come together as the body of Christ to cry out and intercede for unity, for grace, for passion, for healing, and for the House of Prayer to be established 24/7 in the Michiana area. Some of us are fasting for a time, others may do the whole 40 days. Our purpose is wholehearted love for God the Father, Jesus the Bridegroom, King and Judge and the Holy Spirit our help, encouragement and guide. The purpose is that our hearts and our capacity to love would be increased. The purpose is that we would live lives of complete devotion to our Beloved and that our day to day choices would reflect this devotion. The purpose is that we would have clean hands, a pure heart and renewed minds ready for the return of our Lord.
Every day at 6am, noon, and 6pm we corporately meet to worship and pray. It has been really amazing to experience. When the body of Christ comes together and, in complete unity, cries out for deeper levels of intimacy with Jesus or for the overturning of Roe v. Wade, it is an awesome thing.
This is a time like never before for the church of America to realize that time is short. It is not a time to be lax or apathetic, but it is a time to stand against the onslaughts of the enemy. It is a time to love people like we never have. It is a time to become intimate with Jesus Christ and understand the importance of spending time with Him. Significant time. We are far too comfortable with our couple days a week at “church” and think that this will suffice. It is not so.
People who are spiritually radical are intentional. Intentional about prayer. Intentional about worship. Making the most of their time because time is short.
