Posted on Thursday 14 February 2002 by Joshua

It is the end of the “day of love”… and I, for one, am glad. To me it is just another commercial holiday a way for Hallmark and Whitman’s to make another couple million on cards and chocolate hearts. All the guys were lined up at the jewelry counter at K-Mart last night frantically trying to purchase something in an attempt to assuage their consciences and “satisfy” their girlfriends or wives. Perhaps that is a cynical way to look at it, but in my opinion, love is something expressed throughout the entire year or should be. Having one day to try and make up for the lack of doing it the rest of the year seems trite and meaningless. At any rate, to commemorate those fallen in the war of love, I wore black.
