I wish I could write like this… but I found it on the comments to a friend of mine and it is really a wake up call to anyone wallowing in self-pity … so I post it here for myself and anyone else who reads it. (I bolded a couple things and put some comments in italics). We are living in the last days… what am I doing about it?
“I wish that I didn’t have to write this, but I can’t stand to see this go on any longer. You say that you’re “waiting for the dust to settle” but dust cannot settle when you are always kicking it back up. With love I urge you to wake up and realize that satan is enjoying every waking moment of your day when you are wasting every moment absorbed in self-conceived dreams. Unwanted pain hurts, I know, but the only thing worse is failure�a fate that only you can decide for yourself. You ask, “should I open my eyes to other girls” and every ounce of my being screams warning�NO! open your eyes to Jesus, to the meaning of this life! You are a Christian chosen to live in the end times�the end times! Catch the vision and make it yours. God is not concerned with how much love and concern you can offer any girl�He has abundantly enough love for her and for you. If a man and a woman are capable of a relationship that increases their ability to glorify God in their ministries, then so be it. God will culminate an intimacy outside your ability to imagine. But that is for God to decide and you to consider no more. When two soldiers are placed in a foxhole together it is not because the captain wants them to have the opportunity to talk and amuse each other. It is because he knows that partners can cover one another, capitalizing on every opportunity. But, if you spend all of your time trying to decide who you want to partner with, you won�t know anything about fighting and when the bullets start flying, you�ll be nothing but a hazard to them. Concentrate on the war! How do you use your weapons? Your gifts? Then, you will have the ability to be the hero that your partner needs when the time comes. In the scope of God�s plan, we are in overtime�get your head in the game! you are not a Christian chosen to live, die and sing hymns in heaven. You are a Christian chosen to live in the last days, with potential to alter the fate of the world leaving even the angels breathless as they watch what God can do through you![Wow I love that line – I need to get a grip on that concept!] But you must rejoice in Christ and again I say rejoice! Not another depressed day and no more loss of hope. Relationships, grades, you name it�they�re all details�painful sometimes, but merely details. Pain can sear you inside, but let it be the fire that ignites the ferocity and determination that leaves the demons regretting their participation in the trial that you turn into legendary victory! Everything in me is pleading with you to see the vision! It�s the last days and you are a chosen one�.chosen to defeat the enemy. Take hold! I encourage you to remember that he is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose�and that goes for relationships and the emotions that go with them too! Now change the world already�I know you have it in you!”
