Holocaust

Posted on Tuesday 22 January 2008 by Joshua

35 years ago today, a decision was made that would forever alter the course of our nation. 35 years ago, we decided as a nation that life was expendable, and that innocent children who were not wanted could be murdered. Since then, there have been over 48 million reported “legal” surgical abortions in the United States alone. That is about 3,700 babies aborted every day, and 1,350,500 annually. One baby is killed every 24 seconds. For every 100 births in the United States, there are 31 abortions. 1/3 of a generation has been destroyed! On this day, I again pray the prayer, “Jesus, I plead your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation. God, end abortion and send revival to America.”

Let it be so Lord! I was just thinking last night about how disengaged my heart still is with the reality of 50 million babies killed in 35 years. I think it was Jeremiah that cried, “Oh that my head were a fountain of tears…” so that he could weep in intercession for his nation. Let it be so…

Have you ever researched Roe v Wade? Someone challenged me some time ago to read through all of the material that I could, because I really didn’t know anything about it. It’s one thing to say, to feel– but to get knowledge behind it brings so much more intensity to prayer. I know you know that…

Anyway, the more I investigated, the more I was appalled.. you should look into it, see how deep the stains of sin really go in our nation. =\

We are so numb to this reality. Thank God for men like Lou Engle who God is using mightily to trumpet the horror of this American holocaust. Lou has been praying for years that God would raise up men and women in media to promote the pro-life message and he believes that his prayers are finally being answered with movies like “Bella” and the upcoming “Horton Hears a Who” where the tag line says that “a person is a person no matter how small”. Amen Horton!
