Happy Birthday Matt

Posted on Monday 17 July 2006 by Joshua

My brother Matt and sister Sara a couple summers ago.
Believe it or not, my brother Matt is 31 now. I meant to post this yesterday, but time got away from me and this is the first chance I have had to post. Matt lives in the great state of Virginia (for now) with his wife Trish and two lovely girls, Abrianna and Alessandra. I am still unclear as to his job but I like to think of him as Homer Simpson up there in the control room push random buttons and surfing the net. But I know in reality he doesn’t do that…right? Anyway, I can’t think of any fun Matt stories at the moment, but when we were growing up, my brother was my best friend. If i think of any good stories, I will put them up. Family – feel free to leave your own stories in the comments section.

Oh there are a lot – like the time he wanted to make a canoe out of a log; so he worked really hard at carving it and put it in the crick where it promptly sunk, with him in it!

Or the time he and Todd got Todd’s father’s tractor stuck really really bad in the field and Johnny Zerga had to come and pull him out with his tractor but I should talk (that’s a story)

Matt and his brother Josh with our “pet” bull Hamburger 🙂

Skateboarding the in basement on the half pipe

When he was little and his Popeye pose and calling everyone “Dummy”

Loving to go in the truck with his Dad or Grampa

Of course, mothers love those special snugly times we had

His first time at Sunday school where he cried and my heart broke and Mr Heller taking me away saying “He’ll be fine.”

Seeing the whole school cheer for him when he got the basketball during a game and when he got a basket, oh my!!! 🙂

    He is the bestest!!

Hey what about Matt and his Kevin shirts( polo shirts) that he had to wear when he was a little guy when he hung out with Uncle Kev. He was a great kid and grew up into a great man. Happy Birthday Matt, wow can’t believe ur 31. Time marches on. Best of luck and happiness now and in future. Oh I also had a picture of Josh, Matt and Sara putting on a Thanksgiving play with feathers all over themselves. A little blackmail maybe?

Happy Birthday, Matthew! I can’t believe you are 31 already. I think just yesterday your mom and I were pregnant together with our boys! The first story I remember about Matt:

Roger and I had just moved to California. Barb and I were both ready to deliver so who knew who would come first! Then on July 16, 1975 at 5am we get the call from Jim – Barb had the baby and it’s a boy! We were excited but it was 5am. Jim thought it was 3 hours ahead not 3 hours before! Scott came along 6 days later but we did not call at 5am to announce our news.

When I think of Matt I see him as 4 years old with his finger in his month and his orange striped sweater. Scott had the same sweater. I think Grandma Pemrick got a deal on them.

He loved mashed potatoes and ketchup!

    He called everyone dummy!

How about building his jeep in the garage with Jim.

    Birthdays at Mohawk Mills Park!

I hope you have a great 31st year!!!

Whenever I think of Matt, I think of COLD mash potatoes and ketchup. Blch! Even to this day I think of it when I’m eating them (minus the ketchup)

I hope you have a great birthday, and whichever button you push make sure it’s the donut one!

matt memories are matts jeep with the gas tank in the back seat and a tube leading to it. and freezing on the way to school.
me helping matt match his clothes.
the horse rink windows getting busted. which he had to pay for.
the fort in the woods. the old house in the woods.
almost cutting his finger off with the wood splitter. arguing over whose turn it was to get the starting wood and the wheelbarrel full. stacking wood and stacking more wood.
matts go cart and his awesome red four wheeler which he would not let me drive. the day he took me for a ride in his camaro and we got air.
his model trains up in the attic. that when he worked on the roof him and dad had matching plumber cracks hehe. constantly rolling his eyes. cheese and ketchup thats it just a slice of cheese with ketchup. making our lunches in the morning for school. i think that s all i can remember.

i think it was matt and his cousin brian or shawn broke all the windows out of the horse barn next store to your house .

another one was matt was delivering for Quandt’s up here in rutland. i passed the truck early one morning and turned around and followed it to his next delivery at Gill’s Deli . as i got out of my van, he was in the trailer and it was still dark and i started yelling something at him and he stuck his head out and said Uncle Tom. i think i scared him . told him i had seen the truck around town and told him you can run but this is my town and you can’t hide .

happy birthday matt , gee how old does that make your MOM????
