Let me just point out the fact living near train tracks has to be one of the more annoying things about Osceola. You see, everything I need to get to is on the “other side” of the tracks. Bear in mind that these are killer tracks. People actually have been killed on these tracks by fast moving trains. I, however, have never once seen a fast moving train on these tracks. Oh no. I seem to always get the creepers. And I am not talking once a day. No no no. My friends, I have the privilege of living near a switchyard. So that means about, oh, I would roughly estimate, two dozen trains a day. Sometimes, like last evening, you get two of them going in opposite directions. And of course, one is slowing down to come into the yard and the other is starting up to leave the yard which means that they are both traveling at walking speed … if you are lucky. Needless to say, I have learned how to get around them. If you were to observe me driving the Wonderbox down the street and suddenly veer to the left at breakneck speed through the residential neighborhood, you would realize that I am trying to make it to the next crossing before the slow moving train gets to the sensor that drops the crossing gates. Bear in mind that I am not dumb enough to go around the gates – whether or not I have time – because I am deathly afraid that somehow someway my truck will stall or get stuck right there and I will have to jump out and it will be all dramatic like a movie… Yeah, trains are such fun. If you ever buy a house, check around first for the location of the major conveniences and if you are near tracks… see if there is a nearby TUNNNEL THAT GOES UNDERNEATH THE TRACKS. Personally, I think that should be mandatory.

I see the trains all the time and he is right you have to get the right crossing and it is stubber to get across. I love trains my self i get all kinds of trains goin across the tracks i get really fast ones and really slow ones the one i hate are the ones that stop altogether i just hate it it is anoying well i got to say what i go to say.
And Josh don’t forget that you have trains in your blood as your Gram Pemrick’s father and uncles were all railroad men, and geeze look at Uncle Tommy’s fascination with trains!!
Oh Yes – tonight in Voorheesville I heard the train when I was by the Supervalue and I knew that I could not get to the laundromat (where did they get that name?) and so I went under the tunnell so I would not have to wait FOREVER the other way. There are three train tracks in Voorheesville and now I have learned the way to go!
BECAREFUL Josh what is it about trains and the Petrillos?
🙂 Mom
You had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.
