So yesterday a large box was delivered to DCDesign. In it held one of the coolest chairs I have ever had the privilege to sit upon. Long ago, I went to see where Dave Carey worked, and to my surprise, the entire office was outfitted with Herman Miller’s Aeron chairs. I was immediately impressed and amazed (mainly because Dave was unaware of the awesome chair upon which he was seated). At any rate, he liked them because they are super comfortable and designed so well. So fast forward a few years to this designer trying to meet deadlines – the one man show, as it were – and having to sit for hours upon end in front of his lovely 23″ Apple cinema display (we’ll save that one for another entry!). Seating is a very important issue. And even as I type this, I realize the shortcomings of my own office chair (as cool as it may look).So this morning, I walked into the office and since Dave is on the night shift, he has been having me do some work in the mornings for him. There it was…gleaming in the soft light… The brand new Areon chair. $1,200.00 of lovely chrome, leather and curvilinear beauty. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed using this chair for the past 3.5 hours, and I tell you what… if he is not around in the morning, I might just have to … ummm… use it from time to time as our offices adjoin each other. Anyway… if anyone has a strong desire to bless me with an Aeron chair someday, I would love you forever.
In my world, my husband is the most deserving person of this investment! If his buns are happy, I’m happy! 🙂
Thats great! You should see the chair I sit upon for hours and hours. It would make you cry its so bad. I have to get up every so often to stretch and move! 🙁 Oh-Well, God is good. hugs!

i forgot to add… being the consummate shoppers and deal hunters that they are, Dave and Liz did not actually pay that for the chair… they got a nice deal 🙂 and I was wrong about the price. Dave told me it sells for $1,400.
