David Livingston once said, “I place no value on anything I have or may possess, except in relation to the kingdom of God. If anything will advance the interests of the kingdom, it shall be given away or kept, only as by giving or keeping it I shall most promote the glory of Him to whom I owe all my hopes in time or eternity.”
Why do we hold stuff so tightly? We are like those seagulls in Finding Nemo… “mine, mine mine mine!” It’s amazing to me sometimes. Not being a pack rat, I am astounded as I drive about the countryside and see garages filled with so much stuff that people are unable to park cars in them. Attics, basements and sheds are filled, storage units have sprung up all over the place to hold more and more stuff that people have no use for. The needs are many. Churches, nonprofit organizations, charities – all of these places desire to do so much for so many with so little… If people would let go of the stuff that they don’t need and realize that they could do so much to help those with needs… my gosh, how amazing would that be. The Christian community should be the most giving, generous, radical bunch of people out there. Let it go…Hold it loosely kids… because giving what you have could change someone’s life!
Even with the three snaps, you’re still noble. That’s awesome. 🙂
you should send this little paragraph to pat robertson. his house is the multi-million dollar mansion on top of a hill.
Wow…very good…I’m a throw away person, too, and I’m not as stingy as most, but I do not in any way operate in the spirit of giving like I’m suppose to. Why is that??? God operates His kingdom so differently than we operate… How long do you think it’ll be before we truly join Him?? I mean… first it’s gonna take seeing things as He sees them. It’s going to be so exciting when finally we do. Hope, joy, rest, and peace will be ours!!!! I can’t wait…REALLY!!! I cannot wait!!!
btw…the pics are pretty freaky…eerie…and yeah, they do look like people you’ve seen before…kinda gives ya chills…It’s really funny, though….LOL
